The Bulldog Trust has had its home at Two Temple Place since 1999. An essential part of The Bulldog Trust’s opening of Two Temple Place for free charity, community and public events is our guardianship of our Grade II* listed building. Two Temple Place is our great tool for education, skills development and cultural enrichment. Our recent replacement of the Great Hall floor is a wonderful example of how The Bulldog Trust and its Trustees invest in our guardianship of Two Temple Place. Replicating the original floor in a sustainable way was not an easy or cheap thing to do and was developed as a project over several years. The oak and sepele wood pattern is built from laser scans and detailed drawings of the original floor.

The floor is the most obvious recent example, yet much of what we spend our limited funds on with respect to our guardianship of our home is not visible. We maintain a multi-year programme and seek outside funding and donations where we can. In 2024 we have invested hugely in the electrical systems in the building, we have repaired the chandeliers in the lower hall and the library and there are new utilities in our commercial kitchen. Not things that you notice. We have rehabilitated several oak floors in the William Morris room and the office corridors and we have totally replaced the lift car and lift system which was a major investment. In 2025, we plan to have a full accessibility audit and to then work through its recommendations as our charitable calendar and funds allow. The Bulldog Trust and the staff at Two Temple Place take great pride in how we care for our beautiful home.
