Accessibility
Accessing the building
As a historic building, there is a short flight of stone steps leading up to our entrance, and wheelchair access to the building can be gained via a stair climber.
The model of stairclimber is a Baronmead Stairmate Major. We advise looking at the manufacturer’s website here to see how the stair climber works. The stair climber has a total weight limit of 200kg, and wheelchairs must be less than 88cm long and 70cm wide in order to fit on the platform. For your safety, we reserve the right to not use the stair climber if a wheelchair is too heavy.
The manufacturer advises that we do not use the stair climber in icy weather conditions. Please call us on 020 7836 3715 before visiting to discuss how we can support your visit.
Inside the building
Once inside the building, a lift provides access to all floors, and there is an adapted toilet on the ground floor.
Assistance animals are very welcome.
We are a nursing friendly venue.
We have an unstaffed cloakroom available for visitors. We cannot accept luggage larger than cabin size (55 x 40 x 25cm) in the building. The nearest ‘left luggage’ facilities are at Charing Cross Station.
You can explore the building virtually to prepare you for your visit here.
Facilities
We have disabled access and all gender toilets available, and baby changing facilities.
A quiet space is available for visitors who might need it, please ask a member of staff when you visit.
Interpretation
During exhibitions, large print label books are available in each room or at reception. There are label books with yellow paper and black font. We also have a variety of colour overlays to use with the large print guides.
Museum Sensory Bags
During exhibitions and all open days, our SEN bags will be available.
Our Museum sensory bags are specifically curated kits designed to provide comfort, reduce overstimulation, and enhance engagement for visitors with sensory sensitivities, particularly those who are neurodivergent or experience sensory processing differences.
Each sensory bag contains interactive sensory resources and toys designed to support and enhance your time at Two Temple Place.
You can collect a SEN bag and ear defenders from Reception. We welcome feedback about these resources which you can give to the Staff at Reception upon returning the SEN bag/ear defenders on your way out.
