Two Temple Place relies on a fantastic team of friendly and dedicated volunteers to make our exhibitions a success! Our Gallery Steward volunteers take on a vital public-facing role that includes supervising the exhibition spaces and answering visitors’ questions.
We welcome people of all abilities and offer a supportive environment for those with additional needs. We provide all training for the role; no prior volunteering or museum/gallery experience is needed just enthusiasm and commitment!
During exhibition periods (January – April) we ask that volunteers commit to working at least one shift (three to four hours). However, we are happy to discuss individual needs and therefore encourage applications from everyone.
We also require volunteers throughout the year for a wide range of events, and this time commitment is more flexible.

We want our building and activities to reflect a variety of voices, opinions, skills and social and cultural experiences. Two Temple Place welcomes applications from the widest possible range of people and is keen to encourage interest from candidates from communities that are currently under-represented in the arts and culture industry.
We are particularly keen to hear from Black and Global Majority applicants and those who self-identify as disabled as these groups are currently underrepresented in our industry and team.
We are now recruiting Gallery Steward Volunteers for our 2022 exhibition, ‘Body Vessel Clay. Black Women, Ceramics & Contemporary Art’. Click here to see the job advert.
