Artist Talk: Louis Thompson & Sophie Thomas in conversation

Join Artist’s, Louis Thompson & Sophie Thomas, as they talk us through the journey and evolution of their work Ghost Ocean, on display at Two Temple Place as part of The Glass Heart, plastics in the ocean, the circular economy and broader insights into recycling projects and environmental movements.

Ghost Ocean presents an ocean trawl, enmeshed and reformed in glass as a creative protest against our depleted and polluted seas. Working collaboratively, Thompson (glass artist) and Thomas (designer) wanted to raise awareness about the huge number of ‘ghost’ nets and plastic that are abandoned or find their way into the sea – entangling animals, fish and coral. Collected over a number of years from Kamilo beach, Hawaii, and along the Thames and its estuary, these waste elements are both incorporated and reflected in glass.

The talk will last around 45 minutes, plus time for questions. Doors will open from 6.15pm.

Limited spaces available, booking essential. Please join the waitlist if the event is sold out.
