A Masterclass in Caricature: Wednesday Late Workshop
Join award winning Illustrator and educator, Merlin Strangeway and delve into the fascinating world of caricature illustration. Explore a rich, historical practice that has seen a huge resurgence in popularity in recent years. Drawing from observation and objects from Rhythm & Reaction: The Age of Jazz in Britain, participants will then be treated to a sweeping tour through the medium, followed by a hands-on, light-hearted chance to learn the joyful art of exaggerated portraiture.
No drawing experience is necessary, just a desire to get stuck in! All art materials will be provided though participants are invited to bring sketchbooks.
‘Absolutely fascinating. My first art lesson since leaving school – I was a bit apprehensive about attending this session but I am delighted I went out of my comfort zone! Thank you very much for your time and expertise.’
