Wednesday Late: Live Music with Allexa Nava
Allexa Nava is a saxophonist, flautist and composer, originally from Peru. Winner of Tomorrow ́s Warriors ‘Alf Williams Memorial Award’ and learning under the mentorship of Gary Crosby, Ben Burrell and Denys Baptiste.
She has graced the stages of several significant festivals across the UK, including We Out Here, Wilderness, Brainchild, and Glastonbury. She has also perfomed as venues such as Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Jazz in the Round, Barbican, Kings Place.
In 2022, Allexa embarked on sharing her original compositions with the world. Her music found its way onto the playlists of numerous esteemed radio stations, such as Jazz FM, Soho Radio, BBC Introducing London, Blue in Green, Worldwide FM, Portuguese “Antena 3”, and even reached the airwaves of WYEP Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania.
Nava’s largest body of work to date is “No Language”. It showcases an elevated point of view and non-conformist approach to composition sharing her enriching story of mustering the courage to break out of a veritable limitations in music education to create a body of work that oozes authenticity and promise.
The Wednesday Late Music series has been curated by Camelle Hinds for Two Temple Place alongside our current exhibition, Lives Less Ordinary.
The evenings are set up as live background music while you explore the exhibition and the building.
